Welcome Message

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Conference Committee, we are honoured and delighted to invite you to the National Occupational Therapy Conference (NOTC), to be held in Singapore from 3 to 4 October 2014.

This is the third consecutive year that the NOTC has been organised by the Singapore Association of Occupational Therapists. This year’s theme brings us back to one of the basic tenets of occupational therapy — “Moving towards occupational performance and participation in the community”. It is developed with the aim of sharing practical and innovative strategies used by Occupational Therapists to help people successfully establish participation, engagement and inclusion.

A comprehensive conference programme supported by overseas and local experts and specially tailored to the needs of the local profession has been lined up. Delegates can look forward to a series of pre-conference site visits representative of the acute to long-term continuum of rehabilitation care. In addition, four pre-conference workshops have been planned, with topics ranging from “Management of Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD)” to “Powered Mobility Aid Assessment, Training and Prescription”.

We encourage you to attend the conference to network and share your views with fellow colleagues. We would also like to invite you to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. Outstanding researchers and innovators will stand a chance to win the “Best Oral Research Award” or the “Best Innovation Project Award”.

We anticipate and welcome your support and active participation, and look forward to a fruitful and exciting conference!
