Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education  and Ministry of Social and Family Development in October 2015 and was promoted to Senior Parliamentary Secretary effective 1 May 2017.  He was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Transport  on 1 August 2012.  He has been a Member of Parliament since 2006.

A/P Muhammad Faishal embarked on his career as a Valuer with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore from 1993 to 1996.  He subsequently  undertook  various positions at the National University of Singapore (NUS),  from Senior Tutor in 1996 to Associate Professor in 2010.

He graduated from NUS with a Bachelor degree (Honours), Estate Management in 1993.  In 1996, A/P Muhammad Faishal obtained Master’s degree and was awarded the Real Estate Developers Association of Singapore (REDAS) Gold Medal. He received the NUS-Overseas Graduate Scholarship to pursue a PHD in Management Sciences at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.

He is married with two children.

Elizabeth R. Skidmore is an occupational therapist with expertise in neurological rehabilitation. In addition to her primary appointment in the Department of Occupational Therapy, she holds secondary appointments in the School of Medicine Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the School of Nursing, and the Clinical Science Translational Institute. Skidmore is a scientist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Rehabilitation Institute.

Skidmore’s federally funded research program addresses two foci: 1) associations among cognitive impairments, mood symptoms, and activities of daily living in persons with brain injury and neurocognitive decline; and 2) interventions designed to promote independence and community integration among adults with cognitive impairments. 

She is the recipient of the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association Academic Educator Award and the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Dean’s Distinguished Teaching Award. She is also the recipient of the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association Inaugural Research Award, and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine Deborah Wilkerson Research Career Award. In 2013, Skidmore was the first occupational therapist to receive the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the highest honor bestowed by the United States Government on early career scientists. Skidmore is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation Academy of Research, and Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.

Terry Krupa is a Professor Emerita in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy at Queen’s University, Canada.  Dr. Krupa served as an occupational therapist in Canada for almost 40 years.  Her scholarly work has focused on how engagement in a broad range of occupations influences health and well-being. She has authored more than 100 peer reviewed publications. 

Dr. Krupa has had a particular interest in the development of intervention approaches focused on enabling the full community participation of people with mental illnesses, and has collaborated with a range of stakeholders internationally to innovate and evaluate new intervention approaches. Dr. Krupa has been the recipient of several professional awards recognizing her contribution to research, education and service in Canada. 



Wong Zi Heng

Zi Heng was a Year 2 Physics student at NUS when he suffered a cervical spinal cord injury back in August 2013. Taking a year of leave from school, Zi Heng was at TTSH rehab for 5 months to relearn and pick up ADL post injury before continuing community rehab at NTUC Silver Circle and also SPD TTE. With the strong support from family, friends and school, Zi Heng returned to school in August 2014.

One of the hostel suggested for Zi Heng to stay on campus and that opened up opportunities for Zi Heng to participate and build an active school life beyond studying. Zi Heng has completed his studies and graduated in 2017.



Amy Schulenburg

Amy Schulenburg has had sixteen years of experience working as an occupational therapist across a range of settings, including home and community based organizations, private practice clinics, schools and hospitals. Currently in the role of consultant occupational therapist for Pearson Clinical Assessment. This role focuses on providing training for therapists, psychologists and educators throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia in the administration and interpretation of assessment tools, and providing guest lectures to university OT programs. This role has recently expanded to include business development to build out the assessment and training offerings for clinicians working with older adults.
