Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of the NOTC organising and scientific committees, we welcome you to the 6th National Occupational Therapy Conference, organised by the Singapore Association of Occupational Therapists. 2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the Singapore Association of Occupational Therapists, as well as the 50th birthday of Singapore. We will celebrate the contributions of Occupational Therapists in Singapore over the past 50 years, and present discussions on how Occupational Therapy should advance as a profession for Singapore. The conference theme, “Celebrating Diversity, Advancing in Unity”, aims to recognise the diverse roles of Occupational Therapists, and share innovative projects and scientific research in niche areas.
With support from local and overseas experts, this year’s programme features the roles of Occupational Therapy in palliative care, mental health care, work-place based vocational rehabilitation, and the aging workforce. These topics are chosen in response to requests from the wider Occupational Therapy community in Singapore, as well as feedback from the delegates of NOTC 2014. Delegates can look forward to pre-conference visits, which aim to demonstrate the diverse roles of Occupational Therapy in community based facilities in Singapore.
We look forward to the oral and poster presentations in the areas of scientific research, quality improvement studies, and innovative projects. Outstanding presentations will stand to win the “Best Clinician Research Award”, the “Best Clinician Innovation Project Award”, as well as the inaugural “Best Student Presentation Award”.
We look forward to an enriching and inspiring time of celebration and learning.
